blink..blank..

Am reading Blink...
Amazing book, for many many reasons. The reason why it makes me write about it is has to do with economics.
I never quite got how having more choice allows the consumer to choose better...
Personally, the more i have to choose from, the more id get confused... blank...
Same as the author says...
He cites a study that says out of people who were given a choice of 6 and 30 varieties of jam, the customers with more choice bought jam 3% of the time,only.. much lesser than those with less choice!
Good, now i have a valid reason for not getting eco.
I hope to come up with more as i read:D

maybe they made their own jam or maybe they tried to sell jam in a society of jam haters. You know i haven't bought jam for years and i realized it about now. Am not much of a jam person, but if i was i would like a few jams to choose from personally. Maybe choice is a parameter which cant be decided as less choice or more choice. I think you should have optimum amount of choice. You can't deny the thrill of making the decision which jam to buy and which ones not to buy. Decide which one to buy and which ones not to buy and finally announcing to the waiting shop attendant, that the winner is...i guess mixed fruit jam...go with it, you can never go wrong with it. I think having the other choices makes us realize how blessed we are to have the mixed fruit jam, doesn't it? Yes, i shall go down and buy me a bottle of mixed fruit jam today.
